Pottery is hard to care for.

This may have been true once upon a time, but modern stoneware is actually really durable! All of our pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe. We have pieces we've been using for years that are still as beautiful as the day we pulled them out of the kiln.

Pottery is for old timey people.

We beg to differ. The beauty of modern ceramics is that it can be made to fit any aesthetic. Gravesco Pottery is equally at home in a farmhouse kitchen, mid-century modern home, or cottage as it is in a high rise or city loft.

Handmade pottery isn't safe for food.

Whoa! Hold up there. We mix all our glazes in the studio to ensure your pottery from Gravesco is safe for everyday use with any food and drink. We never use lead in our glazes so you can sip and eat with confidence.

Pottery doesn't fit into a modern lifestyle.

We are modern people embracing a slow living lifestyle. That doesn't mean our pottery has to be bland! Our handmade pottery tableware will fit effortlessly into your busy lifestyle. The tactile, modern design fits any decor and it's microwave safe, easy to clean and durable.

Pottery breaks easily.

Our handmade pottery is crafted from high quality, durable stoneware. While it may appear fragile, it's designed for every day use. Of course it may not survive a drop onto a hard floor surface or aggressive banging around, but neither will commercially produced ceramics!

When you choose handmade pottery that is special to you, it is cherished and treated better than that free mug you got from a vendor at work.

Handmade pottery is expensive.

Oh sure, it's pricier than a mass produced mug at first glance but our loyal customers have shared that they're not replacing it every time they see a cute cheap mug because they bond with our pottery. It will become your favorite and honestly, once you've had a favorite mug, you never go back to a factory made mug. It just doesn't feel the same.

Pottery is too fragile to ship.

PISH POSH. Christopher uses his former career as an architectural engineer, recycled content packing material and a thorough knowledge of the shipping process to make sure your pottery arrives safely.

On the rare chance something does break in shipping, let us know within 7 days and include photos of the box and pottery so we can file a claim and get a replacement out to you.
